Simple thesis: last season's points are the best public signal we have, so I spent where points-per-pound is highest and refused to pay midfield-premium tax twice. Haaland is the non-negotiable captaincy anchor — £15.5m hurts, but 239 points and penalty duty make him the ceiling of the league. Around him I built a 4-3-3 of proven producers: Semenyo (202) and Gibbs-White (188) are elite mid-price midfielders, Wilson quietly racked up 168, and the forward line of João Pedro and Calvert-Lewin gives me two more sub-£8m starters with 140+ point pedigrees. The back four is deliberately point-heavy rather than name-heavy: Gabriel is the best attacking-defender asset in the game at 209 points, flanked by Guéhi, Senesi and Van Hecke — all budget defenders who outscored plenty of £6m+ options.
